    FISHING:

For a few summer months, Point Lake offers exceptional fishing for trophy lake trout and arctic grayling. You can fly-fish, troll, cast or jig the crystal clear waters of Point Lake to reel in the catch of a lifetime. The majority of lake trout caught weigh between 8 and 20 pounds. However, each season many of our anglers are rewarded with 30+ to 40+ pound fish. To ensure the quality of fishing remains high for years to come we have implemented a barbless hook and catch and release” program. Of course we make exceptions for those unforgettable shore lunches and northern dinners.

Peterson's Point Lake Lodge has a fishing schedule that will suit your needs; packages range from three to eight days in length. Our fully guided fishing package offers you an unparalleled opportunity to catch trophy lake trout. Each group of two anglers is provided with the services of one guide, who are an integral part of Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge.

    HUNTING:

Central Canadian Barrenground Caribou - Each summer, the 350,000 animals in the Bathurst Caribou herd journey from the calving grounds near the Arctic coast southward to the treeline. Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge lies in the midst of their southward migration route. Traveling along time-honored trails, thousands of caribou pass through Point Lake each season. In August, the animals are dark brown with a short, smooth coat and massive, velvet covered antlers. As the weeks pass, the velvet peels off, leaving the antlers with a polished appearance. As cooler temperatures arrive the bulls grow heavy white manes with a prominent white stripe along their flanks.

As the only outfitter on this 70-mile long lake, you will enjoy exclusive access to hundreds of square miles of prime caribou habitat. Whether you choose to hunt with rifle, bow or black powder, our seven-day, fully guided hunts offers you an unparalleled opportunity to take home a trophy Barrenground Caribou bull. Each group of two hunters is provided with the services of one guide, who are an integral part of Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge. These experienced, professional outdoors people are highly motivated and committed to providing you with a first-class hunting experience. Many of our guides are certified by the Government of Northwest Territories.

Each day you will travel by boat to various locations on Point Lake and then hike inland to spot caribou. We also offer opportunities to hunt for wolf and wolverine. By early evening, you return to the lodge, where you will be welcomed, to share your stories of the day's hunt and enjoy appetizers and a sumptuous dinner.

Experience exceptional lake trout fishing and world class hunting for Central Barrenground Caribou in Canada's Northwest Territories. Family owned and operated for the past 20 years, our top-quality packages and northern hospitality has earned us a first-class reputation throughout North America.
