Fishing for Trout, Walleye and Northern: Caribou Lake is approximately 25 miles long with depths up to 250 feet. It has over 22,000 acres of prime fishing waters. There are numerous islands, a diversely structured bottom for the ever-popular Walleye; Shallow reedy bays for fighting Northerns; deep cool pockets for the elusive Lake Trout.
For the extra challenge, try fly fishing for Northerns. Forrest Lodge 16 foot Lund boats are equipped with 30 HP Yamahaź motors. Forrest Fishing Lodge highly promote Catch & Release for the preservation of Caribou Lake fishery.

Caribou Lake is the gateway to Wabakimi Provincial Park -- one of the World's largest Boreal Forest reserves and wilderness canoeing areas. (A Boreal Forest is a broad belt of coniferous forest that stretches between the mostly treeless arctic/subarctic region to the north and the mixed hardwood and coniferous transition forest of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Forest region to the south.)
There are wide expanses of dry lichen rockscapes which support valuable caribou habitat in the park. The wide range of intrusive and metamorphic rocks are some of the oldest rocks on earth.
All Modern Light-House Keeping Cabins include: Fully Equipped Kitchens with Pots & Pans, Dishes, Utensils, Indoor Facilities, Pillows, Sheets and Blankets. Grills available upon request. Due to our extremely remote location, please plan accordingly. Forrest Lodge on Caribou Lake regrets that our facility can not accommodate pets.
What to bring: Groceries, Towels (Kitchen & Bath), Fishing Equipment, Locators, Approved Personal Life Jackets, Personal Hygiene items, and Rain Gear. For your convenience, we sell: Minnows, Ice, Fuel, Fishing and Hunting Licenses, and Wabakimi Camping Permits.
