The waters surrounding Wheeler River Lodge hold many large Northern Pike and Walleye as well as Grayling, Lake Trout and Whitefish. We provide both motor boats and canoes so that you can enjoy your fishing adventure to it's fullest.

Whether you are a die hard fisherman or looking for the perfect family getaway, you will love the pristine waters, sandy beaches, native plants and abundant wildlife. We have operated as a catch and release fishing camp since we opened in 1988 but welcome you to eat fish while in camp. Since we are a designated catch and release area, barbless hooks are now mandatory.

Your hosts, Kevin and Cheryl Rowswell and family invite you to visit the Wheeler River Lodge in spectacular Northern Saskatchewan. Whether fishing, hunting or enjoying a family get-away you will find the natural amenities that only Northern Saskatchewan can offer are unbeatable! Our native guide and caretaker is on site throughout the summer. Born and raised not far from camp, his knowledge and skill are second to none.

Situated on the Wheeler River in beautiful Northern Saskatchewan, we are just a 75 minute flight from the float plane base at Otter Lake (Missinipe). Our camp is extremely quiet and isolated with no other camps in the area. The lakes are beautiful with ample sandy beaches and clear, clean water.

Wheeler River Lodge has operated as catch & release fishing since we opened in 1988 but welcome you to eat fish while in camp. Because of this low fishing pressure, fishing remains as it has always been - outstanding! Our lodge is modern with hot and cold running water, shower, propane appliances and wood stove. Our equipment is top notch - upgraded often.
