Plum Lake Outfitters offers six-day hunts. Sunday is used as a travel day, as well as a day to get our hunters settled in camp and ready for the big hunt. The hunt terminates the following Saturday.
Plum Lake Outfitters strive to staff professional, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic guides, who are able to take care of your hunting needs. This includes transportation to and from camp with all-terrain vehicles to the stands and the care of your harvested bear.
Part of the area we have rights to has never been hunted, as far as we know, and another part has not been hunted for the past five years. We call this our EXTREME WILDERNESS AREA, and we know there are quite a few record-book bears here, as well as color phases.
Sturdy, secure tree stands are located in baited areas containing 45-gallon barrels which are kept baited from late winter through hunting season and again before hibernation. Draw for tree stands is done upon arrival . . . no favoritism.
Because Plum Lake Outfitters is located in a wilderness area, we do not have running water or electricity, but we do provide plenty of water for your needs. A solar-heated and gravity-fed outdoor shower is available. The main camp consists of two permanent buildings, 12 X 20, located on 160 acres of private land. These camps are warm, clean, well-maintained, and dry. Propane is used for heating, cooking, and lighting. A generator is available for charging video batteries.
Manitoba black bear hunting outfitters and Canada deer hunting guides. Our
black bear hunting outfitters and deer hunting guides are experienced with
the Manitoba, Canada area. PLUM LAKE OUTFITTERS, owned and operated by Marven and Betty Konzelman, and situated in the remote and rugged Interlake region of Manitoba, specializes in high quality, guided bear hunts in a 600 square mile area, far removed from farming and residential areas. This wilderness area is one of diverse glacial eskers and moraines, deciduous and coniferous trees and shrubs, wildberries and tall grasses. The gently rolling, forested terrain is interspersed with sedge meadows and small lakes.
The black bears we hunt average 300 lbs., with a large percent of color phase. Lynelle Nolan of Wisconsin took a 500+ pound bear in the spring of 2005 , while a hunter from Iowa harvested a cinnamon bear.
