Our guides scout year round and we will tailor your hunt to your hunting style: from stalking to high tower blinds for deer and fully guided turkey hunts. Also an early deer season will be offered by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks for Minority Youths (dates to be set).
The deer season in Kansas is for Muzzle loader hunters only. Generally, at this time of year, the dear are easier to pattern. In addition we only book one hunter per season.

Therefore, this is a one on one hunt with a very high sucess rate. The season usually opens the second week of September.

Rifle season in Kansas opens on the first Wednesday in December. This season starts well after the end of the rut is over. Although, it makes for a less active hunt than in other neighboring states. This is the real reason why Kansas always produces older, bigger bucks.

This time of year, we focus our efforts on hunting food plots and feeders from two men, 10 feet high towers. The key to success here is patience. These hunts are one on two.

Santa Maria Ranch operates 7,000 acres of privately owned land in the heart of the Flint Hills. The terrain consists mainly of agricultural land with unbroken grasslands, intersected by deep timbered draws and creeks. This setting makes for exciting hunts, regardless of your weapon choice.

Santa Maria Ranch is a small operation, dedicated to your success. We do not overhunt our land, usually having about 14 hunters per year; most of them being bowhunters. Bowhunting is our specialty.

We have the finest turkey hunting in Kansas. Offering both Rio Grande and Eastern turkey hunts on the same land, we are second to none. You will witness an abundance of turkeys every day of your trip.

You can hunt with bow or shotgun. These hunts are unguided. However, we will let you know where the traditional gobler hangouts are located.
